Magwayen - The goddess of the sea who is believed to take the kalag (soul) of the dead in Sulad (land of the dead).
Makaptan
the god of hunger and poverty. He is the supreme god who dwells in the sky and the one who killed the first man with a thunderbolt and visited disease and death on his descendants.
this would be my favorite indio fan art so far. ^^
Adlaw - the god of the sun. Adlaw can manipulate all aspects of a sun’s power (immense heat and luminosity).
He’s my favorite diwata. ^^
one of the most rewarding part in doing indio fan arts. ^___^
i just don’t like how other pinoys respond in the recent episodes of Indio. c’mon indio isn’t supposed to be a disney fairytale story.
I wish doctolero will produce books of her wonderful obra.
A Filipino folksong
still got LSS from my trip last Wednesday in Villa Escudero. we used to dance this Filipino folk song during morning exercises in my elementary days.. awe, it’s nice to hear this kind of song again. ^^
A day in Villa Escudero
A fun place for those who want to experience old filipino country life. I really enjoyed every minute of staying there. The first attraction is Museum of Escudero family, then the carabao cart ride (with matching singer and guitarist at the back singing kundiman, which is very lovely while looking at the view of the place), next is buffet lunch in front of the man-made falls, and the best experience for me was the cultural show!!! Their costumes, props and their performances are amazing! They put much effort even in the details of their costumes. They’re dedicated and very passionate in their performances. The interesting part is they’re not just performers (and we thought they were just hired to perform for the tourists), they’re also the same people who welcomed us earlier that day, some are ushers from the museum, maintenance, children/ grandchildren of the employees and cart singers. They seemed very skillful and very energetic in what they’re doing despite of their jobs and roles before the show. This made me so proud for my fellow pinoys like them, who are very dedicated and passionate in their jobs for the sake of promoting our culture.
my facebook cover photo. mga diwata ng indio.
can’t wait to finish libulan and adlaw. I should post them together once i’m done with them. ^^ I wish I could find a clearer photo of pandaki. -_-;;; help me guys… ^^
We are currently at 17 deities and counting! (Minus Magayon who is the only fictional deity and 4 others who are based on a modern addition of the Visayn creation story or is a deity that was influenced from the Sto. Nino)
I mean there are some inaccuracies such as Lalahon for example who is…
Lidagat - the goddess of water and the seas. Lidagat has the ability to create, shape and manipulate water at will: can manipulate tide, create tsunamis, create downpours and command sea creatures according to her will.
